We took the rest of the year off from
showing and turned to training for herding.
During the first part of 2006, that
training paid off.
Bill, my import from the UK, achieved his
Herding Intermediate title from AKC. In March, Bill also
started his ASCA career with two first places in the Started
classes and won the title of best started dog (not to mention
the large rosette and the $20 in prizes) at the SWASA herding
trials in Brenham, TX. He then went on to achieve his
Open Trial Dog title in the spring at the Whitesboro, TX
trials.
Bill and I also tried our hand at herding
“Cattle”!! My special thanks to Susan Abrams
for providing me that opportunity and for her encouragement, as
well as the help and encouragement of Bonnie Daley and the rest
of the folks with the Indian Terratory Club.
